Race Route - 5K
The 5K race starts at 10 a.m.
It begins on Cruse Avenue near 6th Avenue and runs past the historic St. Helena Cathedral and the Montana State Capitol. See Map
Due to the size of the 5K crowd, race officials will be strictly monitoring the race start to ensure participants' safety. For safety reasons, NO small children will be allowed in the first few rows of runners. Walkers, families with small children, and those with strollers MUST move to the rear of the 5K start. Failure to comply with crowd control requirements could delay the starting time. Race officials are required to enforce safety regulations that benefit all race participants.
IMPORTANT
In order to protect all 5K race participants, those pushing strollers in the 5K MUST begin the race in the area designated for strollers at the rear of the crowd. The Governor's Cup Committee recommends that race participants interested in accurate or fast times should NOT push strollers.
The course becomes common for all race events on Park Avenue until the Finish Line.
The 5K route is USA Track and Field certified course #MT03004GT.
The awards ceremony will be held in downtown Helena at 12:30 p.m. on race day to award the top overall male and female finishers in each race.
Results will be published on this site (barring technical difficulties) by midnight on Race Day.
Last year's race attracted competitors from all over North America.
Please Note!
The following are expressly prohibited in any race event:
- Dogs
- Bicycles
- Roller Blades
