Chip Timing - Fast and Accurate Results!
We're celebrating the 35th annual Governor's Cup with Chip timing technology. You will get fast and accurate results while wearing a small transponder that tracks your start and finish times when you cross a timing mat. Your results will be posted immediately to our website and at the finish line.

Chip timing will be coordinated through AA Sports, of Portland, a race-timing company with extensive experience in competitive events throughout Montana and the northwest.

Expo - June 5 and 6 - Park Plaza Hotel, Downtown Helena
Numerous fitness and health-related products including running shoes and clothing will be available for viewing and purchase at the Gov Cup '08 Expo show. Area businesses are excited to be a part of this new event mirrored after many of the larger fitness events held throughout the state and country.

Packet Pick-up - June 4, 5, 6, and 7, Park Plaza Hotel, Downtown Helena. RACE PACKETS AND SHIRTS WILL NO LONGER BE MAILED TO REGISTRANTS AND ARE ONLY AVAILABLE DURING PACKET PICKUP.
Participants must now pick up their race packet (bib number, Chip, race shirt, and goodie bag) during the Expo beginning Wednesday June 4 through Friday, June 6. Non-Helena residents ONLY will be able to pick up their race packets on June 7 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Early packet pickup is strongly recommended to ensure appropriate shirt size.

2008 Race Logo and Brief History
The 2008 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana Governor's Cup logo is a collection of race logos from the 35-year history of the race. The Governor's Cup began in Bozeman, Montana in 1974 with 147 runners. Designed to be a "migrating" race moving from city to city, the Governor's Cup landed in Helena in 1976 and never left the capital city. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana has sponsored the event since 1979. More than a road race, the Governor's Cup is known for its tradition of several distances for competitive runners as well as for intermediate athletes and casual walkers.

2nd Annual Bike Event June 8
Sunday, June 8, bicyclists of all ages can participate in the second annual Governor's Cup bike event. The 10.5-mile ride through the scenic foothills of Helena will fill out the Governor's Cup weekend festivities. Hop on your bikes with family or friends and be a part of this new Sunday tradition. Enjoy music, games, clowns and other entertainment.
